We had an amazing and magical trip to Disney. I learned a lot from planning this trip. My keeps are the following: Plan each day, make dining reservations (especially character dining), rent a double stroller, stay on the Disney property, get the meal plan, have Disney shirts made, get the Passport CD, wear tennis shoes each day, going in the fall (October was a great time!), adjoining rooms with grandparents, and play at the pace of the child.
Things to change for the next trip: Keep breakfast and lunch plans at the park you are visiting for the day, give child a set amount of spending money each day, when booking resort room request a room close to the bus stop, consider staying at a resort where there is monorail transportation (need to research this a little more), use snack credits during the trip (we had tons to use our last day), and allow for more adult time at Downtown Disney.
We did a lot of things right, but I feel when we go back, I will be even more organized and prepared. I can't wait to start planning our next visit back to Disney!!!!!
