A Perfect Mother's Day: Still in Quarantine

So sweet...especially when sleeping so peacefully!

This Mother's Day was filled with all my favorite things!  We started the morning watching our church service online because we are still practicing Safer At Home/Quarantine...and churches are still not allowed to meet in person.  Kaden was asked to sit in on a panel and was asked several questions.  His responses to the questions and thumbs up/down portion were just precious!  He really is such a sweet boy...with a big splash of funny!  Then he and Kathryn were videoed (which I had no idea) and they gave some funny responses about me too.  Then we went to lunch at my choice...Miss Lucille's Cafe and after that headed to the Cumberland River Bicentennial Greenway in Ashland City.  We logged 5.5 miles.  Kaden was dying to see a snake, and we saw a BIG one...a rat snake about 5-6 feet long.  It was huge!  After that, we went to Mimi and Papa's for a yummy dinner, and we finished it off with a Dairy Queen cake...which was my only Mother's Day request.  I tell the almost daily, that they are my greatest blessing and best gift I could ever receive.  The amount of love I have for them is unmeasurable.  I just can't even put into words how much I love them.  I am thankful every single day that God has chosen me to be their mom.

Kaden's First Zoom Call

Kaden got to experience his first Zoom call.  Since schools are not going back, his teacher set this up so she could see him and his classmates.  This call was with the boys only, and next week she will do one with the entire class.  Kaden was pretty excited to see everyone.  And, he was also excited to show everyone his dog.  I really hate the school year ended so abruptly.  The kids won't experience all of the end of year fun activities and participate in official goodbyes.  But, we are having lots of fun everyday at home!  And, we have certainly made tons of great memories!!!

Strawberry Picking at H & S Strawberries

Kathryn, Carter and Chloe Jenkins, Charlotte and Robert Bowles, and Kaden

Treat kits for Kyle's coworkers
This was a first for me!  I have never taken the kids to pick strawberries (or at least I don't remember ever doing this...LOL!).  We had so much fun!  I am a little sad I didn't do this when they were younger.  Oh well, I can't dwell on that!  We will def make this a yearly event from here on out.  The kids had a blast filling their baskets, and the berries are delish!  And although it had been raining and the sky looked dreary, it made for perfect picking because we had the place pretty much to ourselves!  We went with our Quarantine friends...the Bowles and Jenkins.  Our kids get along so well, so things like this are even more fun.  We picked two boxes worth of berries, so we took some to neighbors, family, and even created dessert treat kits for our favorite bankers (the commercial dept at Kyle's bank).  In true Mary fashion, I took way too many pics...but, it's just what I do.  I loved them all, so I posted almost all of them!  I love my family so much, and I am thankful for this extra time with them to do these fun things!
