Day 4: Animal Kingdom

Today was the day of Melt Down Mania.  I honestly think Kathryn was just exhausted before the day even began.  This morning, we had breakfast at The Tusker House with Donald and his friends.  Kathryn loved having breakfast with all the characters, and the food was good!  Afterwards, we rode the Kilimanjaro Safari ride.  This was fun and relaxing.  Next, we did the Pangani Forest Exploration Trail.  Kathryn liked walking and seeing all the animals.  She especially liked the reptile house (just like at the Nashville Zoo).  Then, the melt down began.  Kathryn was fixated on "buying something" and did not want to do anything else.  She didn't want to ride rides, see shows...nothing.  She cried and repeated a million times that she wanted to buy something.  So, we decided that going back to the resort and allowing her to rest would be the best thing to do.  The entire way out of the park and almost the whole bus ride home, she cried.  It was quite miserable.  Again, I think she was just exhausted.  Once at the resort, she rested and played in the room.  After lunch, she wanted to go back to Animal Kingdom, so we went back.  And, she did great!  We rode the Tricera Top Spin and the DINOSAUR ride (she was a little scared of this one).  We saw It's Tough to be a Bug and the Festival of the Lion King (this show was great!).  Then we went to visit Mickey and Minnie.  We finished the night by having dinner at Boma with the Lanhams.  If Kathryn was going to have a melt down during this trip, today was the day.  Animal Kingdom was my least favorite park, so I was not sad that we didn't spend the entire day there.
