Kaden's 1st Sunday at Church

We took Kaden to church for the first time today.  He was very well behaved during the service.  And, everyone was excited to finally meet him.  He was looking pretty cute in his sweet outfit from Momma Pam.  In a couple of weeks, we plan to start leaving him in the nursery.  He is just growing way too quickly!

Soccer Fun

Today Kathryn had another game.  She is really enjoying soccer.  She loves being out there and playing with her friends.  Not that we keep score, but her team won today :).

Kaden's 2 Month Check Up

Kaden had his two month well visit today.  He is doing great as per Dr. Aquino.  He weighs 13.2 pounds (88th percentile) and is 23 inches long (78th percentile).  I was concerned that he was a little overweight, but it seems that all is just fine.  He got his first set of shots today.  He didn't care too much for them as he expressed his dislike through loud crying.  However, after a minute, he was over it and sleeping.  He continues to eat 5-6 ounces every four hours and is going between 5 and 7 hours between feedings at night.  He is generally a happy baby.  He loves to nap and eat!  We are so blessed to have a healthy, happy, and adorable baby boy!

Weekend Wrap Up - Game Day Style

This weekend, Kyle and I headed to Tallahassee with Jay and Eric Huneycutt for the Florida State vs. Clemson Game.  It was a fun weekend!  We drove all the way to Florida on Friday, went to the Mid Town Filling Station for dinner, and got a full night's sleep Friday night.  Saturday, we were up early and headed to campus.  ESPN College Game Day was on campus, so it was a little crazy.  We walked around and did some shopping, then headed to our favorite spot...The Palace.  We stayed there for the afternoon watching football and playing darts (my first time ever playing was this past weekend...and I have discovered that I LOVE the game!).  Our game started at 8 PM, so we went on to the stadium around 7 PM.  The Noles didn't play a great first half, but they came out the second half ready to play.  It was an exciting game (lots of scoring) and FSU won!  It was a perfect weekend!!!!!

A week of firsts....

This week Kaden had a couple of "firsts"
1. An intentional smile...His first intentional smile was this past Monday in which he was exactly 6 weeks old.  Since then, he gives the sweetest grins (especially in the morning time).
2. Shopping trip in Nashville...This past Wednesday, he went shopping with me and Mimi.  He did a great job.  We left at 9 AM and didn't return until after 7 PM.  He was a trooper.
3. Sleep over...This weekend, he will have his first sleep over at Mimi and Papa's.  Kyle and I are headed to Tallahassee for the FSU/Clemson.  So Kathryn and Kaden will stay the weekend with the Luthers.  This will be my first night away from Kaden.  I know that he will be in great hands, so I am not remotely worried.  I am excited about getting away for the weekend and having some time with Kyle.

Kaden and his cuteness...

He is such a sweet baby!!!

Getting back to church

Since Brother Roger left First Baptist Church, I have been in a "church slump."  I haven't really wanted to go because I haven't loved the guest speakers and interim pastor.  I am praying our church finds a pastor soon, and I pray it is someone our family loves.  This past Sunday, Kyle and I went to hear Brother Roger preach at a church in Springfield.  I will have to say, I really needed the message he spoke on.  I haven't felt that touched by God's Word in a long time.  Brother Roger's message focused on the Christian Home and Marriage.  The message was a great reminder that God always has to be the center of our home and marriage.  With the busyness of life, I sometimes forget this, and the entire message really hit home for me.  Kyle and I are so blessed.  God has given us everything we have asked for and more.  My hopes for Kathryn and Kaden are one day when they are married that they always remember to keep God in the center of their marriage.  I hope they pray daily for their spouse and family.  And, I hope they always remember that everything they do is for the glory of God.

Finally into a good routine

I am definitely a routine kind of girl.  Since Kaden's birth, it seems that things have been a little hectic and unorganized.  Life is finally settling down, and things are seeming more routine.  Kaden is on a great schedule for a 5 week old.  He is now eating 6 ounces every 3-4 hours during the day.  He takes his first bottle around 7:00 AM, then one around 10:30 AM, 2:00 PM, 6:00 PM, and 9:30 PM.  After his 9:30 PM bottle, he goes to sleep in his crib.  He then wakes around 2:30 AM for a bottle (after this bottle, he goes right back to sleep), and then he is back up around 7:00 AM.  So essentially, I am only having to get up once in the middle of the night, which is really nice!  His wake and nap times during the day are sporadic.  He is generally up for a couple of hours each morning, then takes a good nap.  And, in the evenings he is up from around 4:30 until 9:30.  During this time, he is often fussy, which we call "Fussy Thirty."  Kathryn went through the exact same thing during this time as a baby.  It is actually quite normal for babies to have a fussy time of day, and it is usually in the evenings per what I have read.  Things are forming into our new "normal," and everyone is adjusting well!

This past week in photos

It is no secret...I love pictures, and I especially love taking pictures of my family.  Here are a few from this week...
