More Back to School: August 31, 2020

Again, pictures are in reverse order...but here are a few more from our first day back to school!  We are all so excited for this school year.  We haven't been to school since March 12th due to the Corona Pandemic.  While there are some fears with starting back, there is even more fear with not.  We all need to be in school, learning, and putting our trust in God and knowing that He will see us through these times.  We are all ready for normalcy.  And while this year may look different in many ways (like wearing a mask all day), it is nice to be back in the building with people!  Kathryn had a good day, she said it was a little boring because her teacher went over all the rules, etc all day.  Kaden had a great day.  After school he literally ran to me to tell me how excited he was that Aaron and Zane are in his class.  I know this is going to be a strange year.  At this point I am super thankful we have started back in the traditional setting!

After the first day of school (it was a half day), Judo for an hour, and now time to relax and watch a little Harry Potter together

6:40 AM...ready for our first day!  7th grade for Kathryn and my 18th year of teaching

A Perfect 3 Day Weekend

I was off last Friday which equaled a 3 day weekend!!!  Thursday night I had a Mexican dinner date with Fran and Haven to celebrate Fran's bday.  Friday, the kids and I got breakfast at Lasaters and then headed to Wal-Mart to buy all their back to school supplies.  They were both great while shopping.  I always remember this being one of my favorite things about going back to school, and I want them to have the same memories and fun.  We all had a blast shopping together and picking out all the supplies.  Afterwards, Kathryn and I spent some girl time together clothes shopping for her.  She got a first day of school outfit.  Saturday, Kathryn and I painted our bed while Kyle and Kaden worked on a FSU stadium lego set.  Then Kathryn went to her friend's bday party, and the rest of us spent time home.  Sunday we spent most of the day preparing for the official first day of school.  Kathryn did find some time to do her first ever tie dye.  We were all excited for the first day of school and some normalcy!!!

Pictures are in reverse order...ugh!  Blogger has changed their interface and it has messed things up!

First Day of School August 31, 2020

This year will certainly be like no other...due to Covid -19, we are starting a few weeks later than usual.  This has given teachers and staff plenty of time to prepare as well as get buildings ready for a new normal.

Kathryn is starting 7th grade.  Her teachers are Ms. Tomlin for Advanced English, Mr. Dockins for Science, Ms. Beck for Social Studies, and Ms. Holman for Advanced Math.  And for her related arts, she has Coach Gunter for PE and Ms. Cottrell for art.  Her best friends (Avery Elliott, Annie Rudolph, and Julia Schact) are on her team.  I know she is going to have an awesome year (wearing masks and all!)!

Kaden is starting 2nd grade.  He has Ms. Parker, and he couldn't be more excited.  This is the one teacher he really wanted.  He loves Ms. Parker!!!  I know he is going to have a wonderful year and learn so much.  I can't wait to see how much he continues to grow.

For me, I am starting my 18th year in my career.  I think this will be the strangest year yet due to Covid-19, but I am excited for a change up of it all.
