Living the Good Life

I live such a blessed life. We had a wonderful (and productive) Thanksgiving weekend. During the course of my time off, I decorated the tree and house for Christmas, celebrated Thanksgiving twice (once at the Luthers and once at my mom's), went Black Friday shopping, and went to the Titans game.

I always decorate for the holidays before Thanksgiving day because otherwise I would not have enough time to do it...plus I like to enjoy the decorations for as long as possible. So, Tuesday night and Wednesday morning, I completed the decorating task. Wednesday, Kyle and I went to the Thanksgiving feast at The Red Barn for lunch. It was so much fun! I really enjoyed watching Kathryn play with her friends...so sweet. And, I just need to add that we LOVE The Red Barn. Kathryn's teachers are awesome. Wednesday afternoon, we headed to the Luthers for Thanksgiving dinner. As always, the food was great. This year was definitely the best Thanksgiving there yet...it was just the family and it was really nice spending time with family.

Thursday, we went back to the Luthers for Thanksgiving breakfast, then headed to Hoptown to spend the day at my mom's. Again, another great Thanksgiving meal. It was so much fun having my brothers and sister in town. We always have a blast being all together.

Friday, my sister, mom, and mother in law ventured out for some shopping. We went to Cool Springs. We got there early and took advantage of all the extra savings. I bought lots of things and even managed to buy a few gifts for others ;).

Saturday, we spent the day in Hoptown with my family. Since we don't get to see them as often, I wanted to spend as much time with everyone as possible. We spent the day watching football and eating leftovers...YUMMY!

Sunday, we went to the Titans game. All I can say is WOW, WHAT A GAME! And, we had awesome seats...50 yard line, 10 rows from the field behind the Cardinals. By the time the game was over, the fans around us were chanting "Mary's driving." Long story, but definitely a memory I will never forget (Thank you Rob and Ben). All in all, we had another wonderful weekend. I live a very enriched life...wonderful husband, family, and friends.

Just like old times!

For those who don't know, Kyle and I are huge Florida State fans. For a couple of years, we had season tickets and went to every home game. Since getting pregnant and having a baby, our trips to Tallahassee have come to a halt. So, this past weekend, we decided to head to FSU's last home game of the season. This was a momentous trip, as it was Mickey Andrew's last home game and likely Bobby Bowden's last home game (his retirement has not yet been announced, but we speculate he will step down at the end of this season).

We left Friday as soon as I got out of school and drove to Dothan to stay the night...big thanks to Bramel for hooking us up with a great room! Saturday morning, we drove on in to Tallahassee. We spent the morning walking around campus and grabbed a very early lunch. We headed into the game a little early to take some pics and watch warm ups. The game was awesome! It was a very close game (too close for comfort), and the Noles pulled off a win. After the game, we drove all the way back to Clarksville, TN. Needless to say, we were exhausted by the time we got home. However, we had such a great weekend being together. It was really nice being alone with each other for an extended amount of time...it truly was just like old times!

Best. Party. EVER!

This past Friday (Friday the 13th might I add), we celebrated the 1st anniversary of my 29th Birthday. Kyle had to postpone the initial party for "something really good." So, for the past month, I have been pondering what was going to happen. The first surprise of the day was my sister and brother in law coming in for the party. I had NO CLUE they were coming. I was totally, 100% shocked! Second, we got to Kailey and JR's and everyone was in black...except me, I was rockin' hot pink. Once all the guests arrived, Kyle announced we were all going to the Jay-Z concert in Nashville. I couldn't believe it! I was so excited. I love Jay-Z!!!!! Kyle, Kailey, and JR pulled off an amazing night. Everything was perfect, from the food and beverages to the decorations including the super cute black and hot pink balloons, signs, and coozies. And, to top everything off, our box suite was between box suites of Tennessee Titans, so we go to see/meet several Titans. Needless to say, last Friday is a night that I will never in my entire life forget. I have the best husband, sister, and friends any girl could ask for. BIG THANKS to Kyle, Kailey, and JR for making my birthday so special! Oh, I almost forgot, also THANK YOU to Speaker City, our official sponsor for the evening!

Taking a Personal Day!

I have NEVER taken a whole day off just for me....a day to enjoy and do whatever I want to do....so tomorrow, I am taking off the entire day! I am heading to Nashville to Christmas Village. I am going to listen to Christmas music the whole way there and back. For those of you who don't know, I LOVE CHRISTMAS. I love everything about it...decorations, music, movies, parties, buying gifts, food, and the list goes on. I have had to really hold back to not decorate the house already and that has taken a lot of willpower. Anyways, I am super excited about shopping at Christmas Village tomorrow and buying lots of unique gifts!!! Happy Friday to all!

Happy Homecoming 2009

This year, APSU's Homecoming fell on Halloween weekend. It was a fun and BUSY weekend. Friday night, a few of us met at Pancho Villa for dinner before heading down to the Block Party/Deli. It was really great seeing so many Chi Omega sisters and Alumni at the Deli. I forgot that I had my camera with me, so I didn't take many pics, but I did get a few early in the night (see above).

Halloween 2009

The Luther Family had a wonderful Halloween weekend. We tailgated the APSU game, then went to visit family, and ended the night Trick or Treating with some friends. Kathryn didn't actually Trick or Treat, but she enjoyed strolling along (most of the trip). Above are some pics from her 2nd Halloween.
