Swim Lessons

Kathryn started swim lessons at the Country Club yesterday (she will take lessons all this week from 9-10).  This is her first time taking them, and she did a great job and had a blast!  She listened to her teachers and did everything they asked her to do.  She even jumped off the diving board.  I was able to sit back and relax while watching her.  This is going to be a fun week!

Weekend Wrap Up

This past weekend was quite a busy one!  Friday night we stayed home and watched FSU play in the CWS.  Saturday, I was under the impression I was going to a day at the spa in Nashville.  When I got to Kailey's house, my family and a few of my closest friends were there for a surprise baby sprinkle.  I was more than surprised by the shower (actually, I can't believe I didn't figure out what was going on prior to walking in the house), and I was truly overwhelmed by everyone's kindness...I actually was so shocked that all I could do was cry.  AND, my sister drove all the way from Athens (4 and a half hours one way) to attend and then turned around and drove back home.  She is hands down the best sister and my best friend.  I felt so loved!  I was spoiled with lots of delicious food and cake, and Baby Luther racked up on lots of goodies.  We are so blessed.  After the sprinkle, we all went and got pedicures together.  It was the perfect sprinkle!!!!!  Thank you to everyone who was there and helped put on a wonderful shower.  Saturday night, we decided to let Daddy pick a dinner spot for Father's Day Eve.  He chose Hananoki, so that's where we went.  As always, the dinner was great.  And, Kathryn is really starting to like the dining experience there.  She is still not crazy about the fire, but she enjoys everything else.  Sunday was Father's Day.  We went to church, lunch at Buffalo Wild Wings (again, Daddy's pick), and then went to the Luthers to celebrate with Papa for a bit.  Afterwards, we came home and gave Daddy his gift and cards.  We gave him 2 tickets to the Florida Sate versus Clemson Football game in September.  He was pretty surprised.  Then, we let Daddy take a big nap while we played upstairs.  After his nap, we went to Cheeseburger Charley for dinner (Daddy's pick again) and ended the night by getting ice cream at Cold Stone Creamery (Daddy's final pick).  It was a great Father's Day and weekend!

Kathryn's Red Barn Daily Sheet

Everyday, Kathryn gets a Daily Events/Log from The Red Barn.  I always enjoy reading her "Child Specific Notes."  One from this past Wednesday said...
Kathryn has a wonderful way to look at life.  When talking about how we handle anger she said, 'I get angry but then I get over it and have fun. (then she giggles).'
I love my little girl!

Summer Time is Here!

Now that recital weekend is over, I feel like summer can officially begin.  Prior to this past Monday, things had been so hectic and busy, I felt like I was working harder being home than at actual work.  None the less, yesterday, Kathryn and I had a great day together, and it felt like a typical summer day.  We started out with an 8:30 AM dentist appointment for Kathryn.  I have to brag and say that Kathryn always does so well at the dentist.  She loves to go and get her teeth cleaned.  When they called her name to go to the back, she hopped right to them, handed me ducky, and went on back without any hesitation.  Shortly after, she was finished, and the dentist bragged about how great she was during the whole process.  Kathryn is cavity free.  And, Kathryn even told the dentist she was going to stop sucking her fingers (yeah, right...I think Kathryn might be 13 before this habit is broken!).  After that, we went to Kids N Play for a play date with Emerie and Rachel.  The girls had a blast running around and climbing.  Then Kathryn and I went to lunch and Target.  Next we headed home to change into our swimsuits and to meet Haven and baby Robert at the pool.  On the way home from the pool, Kathryn zonked out and proceeded to sleep for over an hour once we got home.  She was exhausted from our fun filled day.  Let the fun summer days begin!!!

Flying High 2012

This year's Flying High was held at the Clarksville Country Club.  The weather was perfect, and the event went well.  Beforehand, a few of us met up at Brittany and Stanley Ross's house.  All in all, a great night!

Kathryn's First Dance Recital

What an experience!  After Thursday night's hectic recital practice, I was convinced it was going to be a miserable weekend.  Much to my surprise, the rest of the weekend went well, and I actually enjoyed the dance recital experience, and most importantly, Kathryn had an absolute blast.  Friday night was Night #1.  Mimi and Papa came out to watch.  Kathryn danced both of her dances, and she did a great job.  Saturday night, Momma Pam took Kathryn (Mommy and Daddy had Flying High).  Momma Pam said Kathryn did well and seemed like she really knew the steps for the dances.  Sunday, Daddy was there to watch (he had just returned from LSU late Friday night), and once again, Kathryn did an outstanding job on her dances.  For a 3 year old, she really did well.  She was comfortable on the stage and knew step by step what to do.  We were all so proud of her.
