One week away...

I just realized Kaden's surgery is one week from today.  He will go in on Wednesday, February 6th to Vanderbilt Children's Hospital for his Hypospadias Repair.  I know everything will be fine, but I am still a little nervous about the whole process.  And, I am dreading the post surgery "care."  However, I am ready for it to be over and everything be "normal."

Weekend Wrap Up

Friday was another SNOW DAY!  And, I was super excited because this gave me an additional day home with Kaden to continue to breathing treatments every two hours.  I also decided to keep Kathryn home so we could all be lazy and just enjoy some family time.  We were all very lazy on Friday.  We lounged, watched TV, played some games...and that's about it.  Mimi and Papa came by to visit and brought lunch, and later that afternoon, we went to Haven's for a clothing show.  We got the kiddos a few adorable outfits.  And that was pretty much our day.  Saturday, Kathryn and I went to a Bitty Baby Birthday party.  Chloe Jenkins's baby Maggie turned one.  They had a party to celebrate.  Kathryn was SOOOOOO excited.  She woke up bright and early Saturday and got her babies ready very first thing.  We had the best time at the Jenkins.  Kathryn LOVES to play with Chloe and I had a great time catching up with Fran.  It always seems like life is pulling us in a million different directions, so it was nice to just sit and talk.  Saturday night we went to Buffalo Wild Wings for dinner...yummy!  Sunday was another fun day.  We took a family trip to the Circus in Nashville.  The circus was so fun, and Kathryn had a blast!  We will definitely make this an annual event.  THANK YOU Uncle Michael for the tickets and for Kathryn's spending money (she was pumped about buying her pink dragon, snow cone in a lighted cup, and cotton candy).  What a fun weekend!!!!!

Kathryn cracks me up

This was on her daily sheet today...
She took in Mexican money to share for show and tell since this week's focus has been all things multicultural.   She is so silly!

Garrett's Sweet Letter

Kiki sent me a copy of a writing assignment Garrett completed in school last week...too, too sweet!!!
Love how he spelled Tennessee!!!!!

On the road to Recovery...I hope

Well, this week has been a wash for me...Kaden has been sick all week.  He has to have a breathing treatment every two hours, so I have not been to work this week.  While I absolutely hate to miss work, being a mommy takes precedent over being a teacher.  I will have to say, I have really loved being home with him these past few days.  He has been extra snuggly.

I am hoping these treatments clear him up SOON.  He is not a big fan of the treatments or having his nose suctioned out.  Here's to hoping this sickness is near it's end!

Weekend Wrap Up...3 Day Style

Team Luther had a good weekend.  Friday night was spent at the Luthers.  We took them dinner and all ate together.  Saturday morning, we were up and at 'em early.  We met Brooke, Faith, and Mary Brynlee at 9 AM at Kids N Play.  The girls had a blast playing while Brooke and I spent time catching up.  Brooke is one of my best friends.  We met in college during Rush Week.  We were both Special Education Majors, both pledged Chi Omega, and in general, we had a ton in common.  We quickly became super close friends (all the way down to wearing the same Chi Omega shirt several times a week and not remotely planning to match).  I love that Brooke and I can go weeks without talking, but when we are together, it is like we have not missed a beat.  I love her and her girls (and Stephen too).  They are truly like family to me!  Anyways, after Kids N Play, we had lunch at Chick Fil A, and the girls played some more.  While on our playdate, Kyle had to take Kaden back to the doctor (3rd time in 3 weeks).  The doctor put him on a second round of antibiotics.  Saturday night was an APSU game and the Red Coat Society Induction.  Charles Hand (JR's dad) was being inducted.  So, Kyle and I went to the reception to hang with Kailey and JR.  Then Kyle and I went to Blackhorse and had dinner.  It was really nice being alone with Kyle on a dinner date (seems like these times are few and far between lately).  After dinner, we went to the APSU game.  For most of the game, we sat with JR and Kailey.  I will have to say, it was the most fun I have had at an APSU bball game this year.  Kailey and I laughed til I almost cried.  Good Times!!!!!  After the game, we went to pick up the kiddos from the Luthers (since Kaden was sick, we opted to not take him to the game, and since Kaden wasn't going, Kathryn didn't want to go...she was dead set on staying with her brother...truly sweet!).  Sunday, we decided to stay home from church (Kaden was still not feeling well).  We spent the day at home being lazy!  Truly, these days are the best.  Monday was another "stay at home day."  MLK Day fell on this Monday, so Kyle was off too.  I took Kaden back to the doctor for a follow up from his Saturday appointment (he has been diagnosed with Bronchiolitis).  Again, the rest of the day was spent at home and being lazy.  Kaden has been pretty sick.  We are now having to do breathing treatments every two hours.  This has been quite a task.  But, I am ready for him to be better, so I am diligent with his treatments.  This three day weekend was a perfect mix of family time, time with friends, and time with just me and Kyle.  Blessed indeed!!!

Coloring fun...my girl loves art!
So silly...playing with her make up wearing her dance clothes and a random belt...Fashionista!

Snow Day!!!!!

Today was our first snow day of the school year, and this mommy was excited!  I loved having the whole day with Kathryn and Kaden and having absolutely no agenda.  We spent the whole day in our pjs.  I didn't even take a shower until tonight, and then I put pjs back on.  I wish Daddy could have stayed home with us, but it was kind of nice having the kids all to myself too!  Kathryn and I spent the day playing games, putting together puzzles, crafting, and watching movies.  Kaden was a spectator.  It was really a great and relaxing day!

Playing Snug as a Bug in a Rug...very cute game!
Making jewelry
Sibling love!
Nap time...so sweet!

Guess who rolled over for the first time last night...

Weekend Wrap Up

We had a busy, fun filled weekend!  Saturday, we went to celebrate Holden's 4th birthday at The Batter's Box.  Afterwards, Kyle and I headed to Nashville so Kyle could meet sweet Harper Hand.  And, I was so excited to see her again too.  She is such a good baby!  Saturday night, Kyle and I went to dinner, then to the APSU/Murray game, and we finished the night by bowling a few games with friends.  Sunday, we went to church, then home to rest before going to Lily Rives's birthday party (and Kyle took Kaden to Broc Huneycutt's party...they were at the same time).  Needless to say, by last night, we were all exhausted.  The kids went to bed, and Kyle and I were in bed by 8.  And, this morning, we were on a 2 hour delay for school due to flooding, so I got an extra hour of sleep...SCORE!  I am ready for a low key week and the upcoming 3 day weekend!

Let's Go Peay!

Our family loves APSU basketball!  Last night, Kaden attended his first official game.  We only stayed until half time (had to get the kiddos to bed), but we all had a great time for the first half of the game.
