Saying good bye to a friend...

This is a post I started back in December of 2013...It has been sitting in my drafts for almost a year...I guess it is time to finish it...

I know and understand that death is a part of life, but knowledge certainly does not make it any easier when it happens.  On November 21st, we lost a friend.  From the moment I found out and each day that has passed since, I have been in prayer.  Praying for my good friend Fran, their two children, their entire family, and all our friends.  I have so many great memories of Blake that I will cherish forever.  We have traveled many places together, attended many events together, and have celebrated many milestones together.  For the past 15 years (starting back to our college days at the Pike house), we have all shared in so many special times.  This is what I know...things will never be like they used to be, but it doesn't mean that things will be bad...just different.  To Blake, I know we will see each other again, and what a great reunion that will be!  Until then, we love and miss you!!!

Weekend Wrap Up: Just Mommy and the kiddos!

This past weekend, Kyle went to Tunica with the Luthers and Jay, and I stayed home with Kathryn and Kaden.  I absolutely hated that I missed the Tunica trip, but I had tons of fun with the kids.  Friday night, we stayed up late watching TV and eating junk food.  Saturday morning, we had a pancake breakfast at McDonalds (Kaden's fave!), went to Hoptown to a Christmas bazaar, then to Momma Hope's for a visit, and the rest of the afternoon and evening was spent at home.  Sunday morning, we headed to church and then to lunch.  We definitely missed Kyle while he was gone, and we were excited to have him back home Sunday afternoon.  Here are a few pics from the weekend...

YO GABBA GABBA!!!

Yo Gabba Gabba Live came back to Nashville!  We took Kathryn in October of 2010.  And since Gabba is Kaden's favorite show (following in his sister's footsteps), we were not going to miss the opportunity to take him.  He had no clue where we were or what we were doing, but when he walked in TPAC and saw all the kids dressed in Gabba gear, he was definitely happy.  Once again, the show began with a bang...literally with confetti...but it didn't scare Kaden.  He sat and took it all in.  Kaden quickly warmed up to all the excitement and truly enjoyed the show.  During intermission, he was concerned about Gabba going "bye bye."  But once they were back on stage, he was excited once again.  We are so blessed that we are able to take our children to events like this.  I know it is easy to take moments like this for granted, but we are so grateful.  To say we are blessed is an understatement!
