Friday night fun

Kyle had to work the Kiwanis Rodeo tonight, so the kids and I kept it simple by staying home and playing.  Yes, we know how to party on a Friday night!!!

Weekend Wrap Up...Memorial Day Style

Lots going on...I completed my 10th year of teaching, Kyle and I celebrated our 10th year of marriage, and we had a fun three day weekend.  Saturday, Kyle and I took Kathryn to see The Little Mermaid at The Roxy.  It was really cute.  There were tons of local actors (including some of my students).  And, Kathryn really enjoyed the play.  Sunday, we went to church, then headed to the pool, and finished the day at Uncle Jay's celebrating his birthday with a cookout.  Monday, we went to Hoptown to visit with Momma Pam and Momma Hope and finished the day with more pool time.  It was really the perfect weekend...no real set plans and just doing things we wanted to do.

Celebrating 10 years of Marriage

As of last Friday, May 24, 2013, Kyle and I have been married for 10 years.  First, I CANNOT believe it has already been 10 years.  It has truly been a whirlwind.  We have been so blessed...far more than what we deserve.  During the last 10 years, we have experienced so much.  There have been a few bumps in the road, but I know that those tests were simply tests...Tests of strength, tests of love, tests of faith.  There is not another man in this world that I would want to share these experiences with...good and bad.  I truly believe God created Kyle for me, and I am forever thankful.  Happy 10 year anniversary to us!  And to celebrate...we went to the movies to see the new Fast and Furious movie...yes, we know how to celebrate.  AND, Kyle did gift me a pair of diamond hoop earrings....which I absolutely love!  I am looking forward to the next 10 years and beyond!

Another School Year Ends...

Sweet summertime is here...and as sweet as it is, it is also bittersweet.  This year, I completed my 10th year of teaching.  And, each year, it seems I grow closer and closer to my students, which always makes it hard to say "good bye" to my 8th graders.  This year was especially hard, because I LOVE my 8th graders.  They have been the best group I have ever taught, and I am going to miss each of them immensely.  Also, next year I am going to switch positions within my school.  I am moving to PE.  And, I am SOOOO excited and wanted this change, but it is also going to be bittersweet.  I work with the best Special Ed department, and while I will still get to see everyone, I know the level of closeness will change.  Change is always hard, but it is needed from time to time.  I am ready for this change and looking forward to August when I will begin a new adventure in education!
