Let the Christmas Season Begin!

A few years ago, we began the tradition of decorating the tree on Thanksgiving night.  And this year, I had enough energy to decorate the whole nice.  It was SO NICE waking up on Black Friday and having the house all done!  I spent Friday shopping...I am close to done!  Saturday, we lounged around the house and got a few chores done, and Sunday after church we started a Christmas puzzle.  Kathryn baked some of her banana bread...it is always DELISH!  I am so excited for this season.  Christmas is my favorite!!!!!

Thanksgiving 2021

We had an amazing Thanksgiving weekend...so much to be thankful for!!!  The kids and I spent Wednesday putting together all the side dishes and getting the house and tables ready for Thursday.  This has become one of my fav traditions...being in the kitchen with them preparing all the things.  We make Green bean Casserole, Asparagus Casserole, Sweet Potato Casserole, Mashed Potatoes, Baked Pineapple Dish, Skillet Corn, Broccoli and Cauliflower Salad, and Layered Pumpkin Dessert.  We pick up some things from various places in town.  Uncle Jay does the Turkey and Mimi and Papa do the Dressing and Rolls.  Pammy does the Deviled Eggs and bring cookies and chocolate pie.  We always have the best and biggest feast!  Other things we have...cranberry sauce, cranberry relish, gravy, chess pie, caramel pie, ham...and I feel like I am leaving some things off.  It is a TON of food, and we love it!  Best part, spending time with family.  I didn't take many pics...but Papa, Uncle Jay, Uncle Michael, Nurse Amber, my friend Tara, Uncle Brandon, Aunt Shannon, cousins Noah and Evie, Uncle Jeff, Aunt Aimee, cousins Maxx and Aubree, and Pammy all came.  We had a house full, and I loved it!!!!  The kids all played downstairs and had a blast.  The adults hung out upstairs.  I love thanksgiving, and I love hosting our families!!!!
