A boy and his dog...

This morning's snuggles...

Cheekwood with Friends

We marked another item off our Summer List of Things to Do...Cheekwood.  Thursday evenings are family night, so we took advantage.  We enjoyed a picnic dinner on a blanket, the kids got to play in several playhouses (Cheekwood's summer exhibit...so cool!).  They had an absolute blast...even though it was HOT...like heat index over 100 degrees hot.  We are thankful for sweet friends and making these memories!

Weekly Summertime Fun

Since getting Winston, we spend a lot more time outside, and we take a ton of family walks.  Sometimes I think that Winston saved us from becoming lazy.  He keeps us outside playing which is right where we should be.
And, Kathryn has added Golf to her weekly summer fun...once a week she takes a lesson with Coach Heath.

Graceland: Memphis, TN

Last Thursday, Phyllis and I toured Graceland.  I had been previously, but it was so long ago, and I hardly remembered anything about it.  I enjoyed the tour and history of the home/grounds.  It was really a neat experience.  And, it was fun to spend a girls day with Phyllis.  We hardly ever get to do things just the two of us any more (since I usually have kids in tow), so this was a needed get away.

Car riding with these cuties

I know I take way too many pics...but I really love capturing all moments in life...like the kids sporting these sunglasses...

Summer = Playdates!

Last week we were invited to swim at the Greene's house.  We had a blast.  The dogs and kids swam, we had lunch, and we enjoyed spending time talking and catching up.  I am thankful for friends that I get to work with daily!

Winston

W is keeping me busy this summer...he is learning a lot.  He has yet to destroy anything in the house (knock on wood!).  If we could get him house broken, he will be the best pup!
W loves Kaden...especially when Kaden is eating

Kaden & Baseball...

This might be the beginning...after watching a little league game, he said he couldn't wait until he could play baseball...pretty sure Daddy is on Cloud 9!

Fire Department Visit

Kaden has been asking for weeks to go see the firetrucks...so I called our friend Hawk, and I took the kids to see the trucks while he was working.  The kids LOVED the whole experience.  They got to see all the hats, tools, hoses, etc.  The even got to play with all the cleaning supplies they use on the trucks.  This was a total surprise for Kaden.  When we pulled up to the Firehouse, he was so excited and started screaming.  After spending almost an hour there exploring, "driving" the trucks, and playing with all the equipment...I left with two very happy kids in tow.  And, as a small thank you for their service, we took all the guys on shift a dozen Chick Fil A chocolate chip cookies.  We are certainly thankful for our service men and women especially our fire fighters.
