Christmas Morning & My 1st attempt to upload a video from my camcorder

One of many gifts Kathryn received this Christmas was a Ball Popper. She LOVES this new toy. She quickly figured out a way to sit on the toy to enjoy the breeze...check out her hair in the video!

A Very Merry Christmas

This Christmas was an absolute blast! Having a little one sure makes this time of year so much more fun and special. I couldn't narrow down the pictures to post, so I made a collage. These are from all our Christmas gatherings...which was a total of 4 with one left this weekend. I can say that I was a little concerned I might be a little sad about not seeing my mom on Christmas Day (this was the first time in my life that I didn't see her Christmas Day...she was in Athens with my sister and her family), but I did survive without being emotional about it. And, it was actually really nice to stay home that morning and relax in my pjs! I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas. Happy New Year to all!!!!!

Oh Christmas Card, Oh Christmas Card...

I am a little behind on my Christmas cards this year. I FINALLY had a few free minutes last night to take Kathryn's picture for the card. I got a few that were okay, but she was really not in the picture taking mood (she is cutting a back tooth and has been a little grumpy the last three nights). I do think that out of the 50+ shots I took, I ended up with "The One".....see below...

Don't you think this one is perfect?!?!?!

Kathryn at Church

Kathryn loves her Sunday School class at First Baptist Church. This picture was taken last Sunday (it is a little fuzzy, but her expression is too cute).

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas

I know I have said this a million times, but I LOVE Christmas. And, I am now officially ready to enjoy the holiday. The house is all decorated and all the gifts are bought and wrapped. This week is going to be a busy one (3 Christmas parties, a JA meeting, and leaving to go out of town on Friday morning), but next week I have zero plans, and I am not making any...time to relax!

Living the Good Life

I live such a blessed life. We had a wonderful (and productive) Thanksgiving weekend. During the course of my time off, I decorated the tree and house for Christmas, celebrated Thanksgiving twice (once at the Luthers and once at my mom's), went Black Friday shopping, and went to the Titans game.

I always decorate for the holidays before Thanksgiving day because otherwise I would not have enough time to do it...plus I like to enjoy the decorations for as long as possible. So, Tuesday night and Wednesday morning, I completed the decorating task. Wednesday, Kyle and I went to the Thanksgiving feast at The Red Barn for lunch. It was so much fun! I really enjoyed watching Kathryn play with her friends...so sweet. And, I just need to add that we LOVE The Red Barn. Kathryn's teachers are awesome. Wednesday afternoon, we headed to the Luthers for Thanksgiving dinner. As always, the food was great. This year was definitely the best Thanksgiving there yet...it was just the family and it was really nice spending time with family.

Thursday, we went back to the Luthers for Thanksgiving breakfast, then headed to Hoptown to spend the day at my mom's. Again, another great Thanksgiving meal. It was so much fun having my brothers and sister in town. We always have a blast being all together.

Friday, my sister, mom, and mother in law ventured out for some shopping. We went to Cool Springs. We got there early and took advantage of all the extra savings. I bought lots of things and even managed to buy a few gifts for others ;).

Saturday, we spent the day in Hoptown with my family. Since we don't get to see them as often, I wanted to spend as much time with everyone as possible. We spent the day watching football and eating leftovers...YUMMY!

Sunday, we went to the Titans game. All I can say is WOW, WHAT A GAME! And, we had awesome seats...50 yard line, 10 rows from the field behind the Cardinals. By the time the game was over, the fans around us were chanting "Mary's driving." Long story, but definitely a memory I will never forget (Thank you Rob and Ben). All in all, we had another wonderful weekend. I live a very enriched life...wonderful husband, family, and friends.

Just like old times!

For those who don't know, Kyle and I are huge Florida State fans. For a couple of years, we had season tickets and went to every home game. Since getting pregnant and having a baby, our trips to Tallahassee have come to a halt. So, this past weekend, we decided to head to FSU's last home game of the season. This was a momentous trip, as it was Mickey Andrew's last home game and likely Bobby Bowden's last home game (his retirement has not yet been announced, but we speculate he will step down at the end of this season).

We left Friday as soon as I got out of school and drove to Dothan to stay the night...big thanks to Bramel for hooking us up with a great room! Saturday morning, we drove on in to Tallahassee. We spent the morning walking around campus and grabbed a very early lunch. We headed into the game a little early to take some pics and watch warm ups. The game was awesome! It was a very close game (too close for comfort), and the Noles pulled off a win. After the game, we drove all the way back to Clarksville, TN. Needless to say, we were exhausted by the time we got home. However, we had such a great weekend being together. It was really nice being alone with each other for an extended amount of time...it truly was just like old times!

Best. Party. EVER!

This past Friday (Friday the 13th might I add), we celebrated the 1st anniversary of my 29th Birthday. Kyle had to postpone the initial party for "something really good." So, for the past month, I have been pondering what was going to happen. The first surprise of the day was my sister and brother in law coming in for the party. I had NO CLUE they were coming. I was totally, 100% shocked! Second, we got to Kailey and JR's and everyone was in black...except me, I was rockin' hot pink. Once all the guests arrived, Kyle announced we were all going to the Jay-Z concert in Nashville. I couldn't believe it! I was so excited. I love Jay-Z!!!!! Kyle, Kailey, and JR pulled off an amazing night. Everything was perfect, from the food and beverages to the decorations including the super cute black and hot pink balloons, signs, and coozies. And, to top everything off, our box suite was between box suites of Tennessee Titans, so we go to see/meet several Titans. Needless to say, last Friday is a night that I will never in my entire life forget. I have the best husband, sister, and friends any girl could ask for. BIG THANKS to Kyle, Kailey, and JR for making my birthday so special! Oh, I almost forgot, also THANK YOU to Speaker City, our official sponsor for the evening!

Taking a Personal Day!

I have NEVER taken a whole day off just for me....a day to enjoy and do whatever I want to do....so tomorrow, I am taking off the entire day! I am heading to Nashville to Christmas Village. I am going to listen to Christmas music the whole way there and back. For those of you who don't know, I LOVE CHRISTMAS. I love everything about it...decorations, music, movies, parties, buying gifts, food, and the list goes on. I have had to really hold back to not decorate the house already and that has taken a lot of willpower. Anyways, I am super excited about shopping at Christmas Village tomorrow and buying lots of unique gifts!!! Happy Friday to all!

Happy Homecoming 2009

This year, APSU's Homecoming fell on Halloween weekend. It was a fun and BUSY weekend. Friday night, a few of us met at Pancho Villa for dinner before heading down to the Block Party/Deli. It was really great seeing so many Chi Omega sisters and Alumni at the Deli. I forgot that I had my camera with me, so I didn't take many pics, but I did get a few early in the night (see above).

Halloween 2009

The Luther Family had a wonderful Halloween weekend. We tailgated the APSU game, then went to visit family, and ended the night Trick or Treating with some friends. Kathryn didn't actually Trick or Treat, but she enjoyed strolling along (most of the trip). Above are some pics from her 2nd Halloween.

YAY for the Weekend!

I am so excited about all the events going on this weekend! We have APSU's Homecoming events, and Halloween is Saturday...PLUS Daylight Savings happens so I get an extra hour of sleep!!!!! Friday night we are going to dinner with friends then heading down to the Block Party. Saturday, we will tailgate the APSU game, and then I am meeting up with my girlfriends to take the kiddos Trick-Or-Treating. Kathryn is going to be a Lady Bug this year. I am pretty sure she will be the cutest lady bug on the block. After this weekend, I am sure I will have lots of pics to post. Until then, Happy Homecoming and Happy Halloween!!!

Fall Break

Above are some pics of my yard the morning of my 30th Birthday....my SFMs were very sneaky!

The last week and a half has been a pretty crazy one! Kathryn tested positive for Swine Flu, Michael (my brother in law) had surgery and is still in the hospital, I turned the big 3-0, my sorority little sis Megan had her baby, and my sister in law Aimee had her baby. Kathryn is 100% well now. I think we caught it early enough that it did not develop like some of the more severe cases we hear about on TV. She took Tamiflu for 5 days and was cured. She still has a runny nose, so we are just treating her allergies. Michael is doing much better now. He has an infection in his leg/hip. Hopefully the infection will get cleared up and he will get to come home this week. I am going to meet my newest nephew Maxx today, and I cannot wait! Once Megan is home and ready for visitors, I will get to meet baby Truett. As for turning 30, well, I guess getting older beats the alternative choice in life ;).

Loving Life

This past week has been wonderful, we had an entire week with nothing to do. It was so nice to be home with Kyle, Kathryn, and Bailey. We spent lots of time playing and being lazy. This past Sunday we did go to the Pumpkin Patch with the Jenkins, Beech, and Abrams families. Kathryn really enjoyed the animals. She also liked playing with the large checker pieces (see pic above). Next week is Fall Break, and I cannot wait! I am going to clean out and reorganize the entire house. I am also going to see one of my best friends Brooke. YAY for FALL BREAK!!!!!

I love being a Mommy of a little girl!

Okay, so Kathryn is the sweetest little girl. She is really starting to show her love...she gives hugs and kisses, and it is truly the best thing in this world. She is always so excited to see us, and I just love her so much.

On another note, shopping for girl clothes is soooo much FUN! They make the cutest things for girls. Today when I got home from work, 2 packages had arrived. I was so excited about my most recent purchases...see the pic!

Busy, Busy, Busy

Wow! What a weekend! Friday night, Kyle and I went to see Wicked at TPAC. It was AMAZING! If you have not had a chance to see it, I highly recommend it. Saturday morning, my sister and I hosted a baby shower for our sister in law Aimee. The shower was so much fun. We had a great turn out, but after it was over, I was exhausted. Kathryn and I spent the rest of the day in Hopkinsville visiting with family. Sunday was another family packed day. Kyle, Kathryn, and I went to Camden to visit Kyle's grandmother, aunt, and cousins. We try to visit as often as possible so they can see Kathryn. I always love spending time with our families, and I especially love it when my sister comes to visit. This week things aren't quite as hectic, but this weekend will be another busy one.

1 year pics by Lashonda

In August, we had Kathryn's pictures taken by Lashonda. They turned out GREAT! Lashonda is just an amazing photographer. Kathryn was perfect the whole time. That girl knows what to do when in front of the camera....gee, I wonder why. Anyways, Lashonda posted a few of Kathryn's pics on her blog....

Be sure to check them out! I am still trying to decide what I am going to order, but I am having difficulty narrowing it down.

All is well....finally!

It's Football Time in Tennessee...GO NOLES!!!!!

Last Wednesday, I decided to take Kathryn to the doctor. For about 3 weeks, she had cold symptoms, but she was not getting better. Instead of a cold, she has allergies...the joys of living in Tennessee. We got her started on some daily meds, and she is finally feeling and looking better. Wednesday night, I woke up with a stomach virus. Not fun times! Friday morning, Kyle woke up with the stomach virus...I felt bad for sharing. Today is Sunday, and everyone is the house is well. Thank Goodness!!!!!
This weekend, we had lots of family time...my favorite! Saturday morning, I took Kathryn to Chloe's birthday party, and the rest of the day was spent at home watching football and playing with toys. Today, we went to church. Kathryn had a great morning in Sunday School. Now, we are home again, watching football and playing with toys. Life is good!!!
Taken this morning, she is a morning girl! And, then her Sunday dress and matching doll =)

Labor Day Weekend

This past weekend was packed with family fun and football. I love Labor Day weekend, as it is the start of college football. Friday night, we enjoyed family time. We ordered out pizza and watched football. Saturday morning, we began our Game Day ritual by having a Chick Fil A chicken biscuit for breakfast followed by more football. That afternoon, we headed to Tailgate Alley to support the Govs. Kathryn and I took a tailgating break and went to Addison's birthday party. Adrienne put on a great party! After the party, we went back to campus to tailgate some more, then we went to the game. Saturday night was great....the Govs WON!!! Let's Go Peay! Sunday began with church and then....more college football. And, Monday was the Noles season opener. The FSU/Miami was the best game of the weekend. Even though the Noles lost, we are looking forward to our upcoming games. All and all, we had a great weekend. There is nothing better than spending time with my hubby and sweet baby girl!

Something New

I have decided to try this blogging thing...I always enjoy reading the blogs of my friends, so that has motivated me to try it out. My plan is to utilize this blog to keep my family and friends up to date on the happenings in our lives. I hope to update it weekly...we will see how that goes. Be sure to check back often if you want to see/read about what is going on the the life of the Luthers.
