Halloween Eve

On Halloween Eve, we went to Hopkinsville to visit my mom, grandmother, and great aunt.  I enjoy taking her during this time so family can see her dressed up for the holiday.  Not only does this give Kathryn an opportunity to visit with family, but it also allows her an extra day to wear her costume.  This year, she is a bumble bee, and she has seemed trilled about the selection.  She has loved telling people about her costume, and she has also loved practicing her "BUZZZZZ" sound.  While in Hoptown, we also got to visit with her sweet cousin Maxx.  They have the BEST time playing together.  Here are a few pics from Halloween Eve.

This blogger's identity is Top Secret right now.  She is a dear friend of mine and is pregnant, but she is not telling anyone quite yet.  She began her blog to journal her pregnancy and life as a mother there after.  Around Christmas, she will reveal her identity.  I can't wait until she does, because I am about to BUST!!!!!  Be sure to read about her journey!
Ashley has an awesome fashion blog.  Although she has more than 200 followers, she is worthy of this award.  She posts almost daily, and she has the best ideas for fashion all at an affordable price.

3. http://sandmsilvey.blogspot.com/
Shelby is my friend and a fellow blogger.  She is a career woman, mommy of an adorable little girl, and a craft queen.  Check out her page to see pics of her projects as well of pics of her precious red-headed sweetie!
4. http://talesofthehales.blogspot.com/
Amelia is a college friend of mine.  She is a busy mom of two boys, and there is never a dull moment in her life.  I love reading her blog so I can keep up with their happenings.

And my fifth goes back to Fran!  Fran is a great friend.  And, she is actually the one who introduced me to this blogging world.  Fran's love for life, her family, and friends is evident in her posts.  And, thanks again Fran for sending this award my way!!!

Picnic and Playdate

Last night, Kathryn and I met up with our friends Rachel and Emerie for a picnic and playdate at Rotary Park.  First, I had no clue where Rotary Park was located, and I am disappointed in myself because the park is so close to our house and is a great public park.  Thanks Rachel for introducing me to this place!  We will be going back for sure.  None the less, Kathryn had a blast eating a picnic dinner with Em.  The girls brought cookies to share with one another.  After dinner, we spent time swinging and sliding.  The slides were by far Kathryn's favorite.  Kathryn and Emerie play so well together, and they are both so sweet.  Kathryn wanted to wear her "crown" to the park...she cracks me up.  It is so fun having a little girl!
In the first pic, Kathryn looks mad...but her mouth was just full of cookie :)

In China?

Every night, we pretty much have the same routine when getting ready for bed (or "nap" as Kathryn calls it).  We change into pjs, brush teeth, use the bathroom, and then get in bed.  Once she is in bed, we play a quick round or two of "Where's Kathryn?"  She loves to 'scare' us by hiding under her covers.  Afterwards, she will stand up on her bed and ask, "Who goes first?"  No matter our answer whether it be Mommy or Daddy, Mommy is always first.  She will jump across the bed to me and give me a big hug and kiss.  Then she will say, "Who's next?" in which we reply "Daddy!"  She will jump across the bed to Daddy and give him a big hug and kiss.  Then, she will lay down for a second and then stand back up and say, "I need to balance one more time."  Balance is evidently her word for bounce, because she will bounce up and down for a few seconds and say, "I balance in China."  Then, she lays back down, pulls the covers on her, holds ducky, says her prayer, puts her two middle fingers in her mouth (I think she will probably by 30 before she breaks this habit), and will go to sleep.  Why in the world she says in China?  I have no clue!

Out of the blue...

Tonight Kathryn informed us, "When I get older I won't need my ducky anymore."  I thought I might cry at the thought of her giving up her ducky.  Kyle said, "You can have your ducky as long as you want."  Kathryn said, "Oh, okay, and I can still suck my fingers too."  She is a mess!

Pumpkin Patchin'

Kathryn and I went to Boyd's Pumpkin Patch this week.  Kathryn had the best time looking at all the pumpkins and helping pick ones to take home.  She loved all the big pumpkins, but her favorite pick was a random bumpy gourd.  I think she liked it because she could actually hold it...the pumpkins were way too heavy.

Watch out Hollywood!

Ran across one more from mom's camera that I had to share....she looks like a movie star in the making!

Momma Pam's House

Kathryn LOVES to go to my mom's in Hopkinsville.  After spending time with "Pam," Kathryn will come home and tell me all the fun things they did...the usuals including playtime at the park, playing outside, watching "Gabba," and the list goes on.  A couple of days ago, my mom snapfished me a ton of pics (which is why all my latest posts are thanking her for the photos).  In the snapfish album, I found this...
I definitely missed the conversation about the day she played with make-up.  I guess the ole' saying is true...What happens at Grandma's, stays at Grandma's.

Cousins are the best!

Kathryn adores all her cousins!  The pics below document some of the fun times shared this past summer.  Thanks Mom for capturing these moments!

Falling into Fall

I love Fall!
Cooler temps, changing and falling leaves, smoking tobacco barns, hot chocolate, college football, and festive fall decor.  Here are some fun fall pictures taken by my mom last weekend...I believe Kathryn loves this time of year too!

Happy 32nd Birthday to Me

A baby pic of me!
As of yesterday, I am officially 32!  Where does the time go?!?!?!?  Instead of being sad about growing older, I am going to embrace it and live every day to the fullest.  Bottom line, either we get older or die...so I will appreciate getting older and cherish my time here.  I had an awesome birthday week.  I started the week in NYC and ended the week in Tunica.  I enjoyed spending my birthday week with the ones I love.  Life is good!

NYC BABY!!!

Bottom line...I am spoiled, and I know it, so I will just own it!

This past Sunday, I ventured out on a girls trip with Kailey and Becky to New York City.  This was my first time in the "Big Apple," so we had lots of ground to cover.  Instead of giving a play by play, I will bullet the highlights of the trip...
  • Saw the 9/11 Memorial...AMAZING and emotional
  • Made a national appearance on the Today Show...it was only for a second, but it counts!
  • Took a carriage ride in Central Park...relaxing and fun
  • Breakfast at Dean & Deluca...Yum
  • Saw the Broadway Show Rock of Ages
  • Did a night tour on the top of a double decker bus...the lights were awesome
  • Stayed in Times Square...insanely BUSY area
  • Rode on the Subway and hailed a taxi
  • Took in the city sights from the observation deck on top of Rockefeller
  • Shopping on 5th Avenue
  • Saw the protestors on Wall Street
  • Ate lots of delicious foods  including the BEST mac & cheese at The Cafeteria
We had the best time!  I am so thankful to have awesome girlfriends.  Seriously, we have a blast no matter where we are!!!  I am blessed!

Weekend Fun!

This past weekend was fun and relaxing!  Saturday morning was a slow morning for us.  We got up, watched lots of cartoons, picked up Chick Fil A for breakfast (a Saturday morning ritual during football season), and then watched football.  That afternoon, we went to APSU to tailgate before the game.  Kathryn had fun tailgating.  She played in the bounce house, watched us play cornhole, and then spent time with some little friends.  Kathryn also enjoyed the football game.  She is still terrified of the Governor, but she continues to like him from a distance.  We are so lucky to have a little girl that will actually sit and watch a game and just enjoy the atmosphere.
Tailgating with friends : )

Sunday, Kathryn got to go to "Big Church."  Since this was Brother Roger's last Sunday as our pastor, we only had one service and there was no Sunday School.  Much to our surprise, Kathryn did great in church.  She played quietly.  When she needed to talk, she would whisper to us.  She only had to get up twice to potty.  After returning the second time, she announced, "Daddy, I went poop in the potty both times."  Although she stated this in a whispering fashion, I am pretty sure the people around us heard her because they all laughed.  Sunday's service was really nice.  I am really going to miss Brother Roger.  He has played an instrumental role and has been such an inspiration to our family.  He married me and Kyle, and he baptized me.  He has been a role model for all of us.  He will be greatly missed!

Happy Birthday Kyle!

Friday night, we celebrated Kyle's birthday with a few friends.  Since all the grandparents were out of town (and this is a rarity), we had Ms. Krista come over to keep Kathryn.  Kathryn was SOOOOO excited Ms. Krista was coming over.  When I picked Kathryn up from The Red Barn on Friday, Kathryn asked, "What time is Ms. Krista coming over?"  I told her, "6:30."  Looking down at her arm, Kathryn said, "OH, I don't have my watch on."  It was so funny!
Anyways, we met up with our crew for dinner at Logan's.  Afterwards we went to The Deli and ended the night at Gilroy's.  It was a fun night celebrating Kyle's 34th!

Saturday morning reading...
