Meet our newest addition...

This is Buddy, and he is our Elf on the Shelf!  On December 1st, we decided to start this tradition.  I read the book to Kathryn, and afterwards we named our elf.  Kathryn's first two choices of names were "Kathryn" and then followed up with "Bailey."  Kyle suggested the name Buddy, and Kathryn liked it, so Buddy it is!  We received Elf on the Shelf last year, but we thought Kathryn was too little to understand.  We knew this year was the year to bust him out.  Kathryn has LOVED getting up each morning and finding Buddy.  And, this has worked as a great discipline tool.  Anytime that Kathryn misbehaves, we remind her that Buddy is listening and she straightens right up!  I wonder if Buddy can just stay all year long?!?!?!  None the less, we are excited to have Buddy join our family for the holidays!
