My favorite part of Christmas...all the days that lead up to the actual day. I love all the movies, lights, decorations, foods, church services, gatherings, baking, shopping, wrapping, Christmas candles...I just love all of it! Friday night, Kathryn and watched The Nutcracker. Due to COVID, there were no live performances this year. I am so glad they taped it and showed it via TV. Although it wasn't our normal way to watch, it was fun to still watch it. Kaden actually watched for about 15 mins...that is 15 mins longer than I thought he would last. Saturday we spent time watching movies, making gingerbread houses, and watching more movies. Sunday after church, we spent the afternoon baking some sweet treats for our neighbors and coworkers. Kathryn was a big help in the kitchen...as always! And Kaden was our official taste tester, and he was great at that! That evening, Kyle and I put a pot of chili on, and while it simmered, we all went down to the Cumberland River to walk through the lights. It was a perfect night for it...not too terribly cold. We all had a great time and a wonderful weekend together! While COVID has definitely made life different, I have found so many blessings during this time...and the biggest blessing is more time with my family due to canceled events. I am so thankful for this slow down during the busiest time of year!
