Moon Pies for the Solar Eclipse!

My moon pie girl!
TOTALITY!  The pic doesn't do it justice...it was so dark outside...right in the middle of the day!

A once in a lifetime event...The Great American Solar Eclipse, and Clarksville, TN fell in the path of totality...this meant we got to experience totality for almost 2 and a half minutes...and it was a totally amazing experience!!!!!  During this extended weekend, my brother Brandon and his family flew in from Salt Lake so they could experience it as well.  So we spent the weekend in Hoptown at my mom's.  Then Monday, we spent the entire day poolside enjoying the total eclipse experience.  Around 11, the moon started to cover the edge of the sun.  Around 1:30, the moon completely covered the sun.  It was drastically cooler outside (by around 15 degrees), crickets were chirping, street lights came on, and it was totally eerie and awesome all at once.  The kids were in awe as well.  After totality, we spent more time swimming and enjoying time together poolside.  Being at the pool was the perfect plan, because it was a hot day (minus the 30 mins leading up to totality, totality, and the 30 mins after totality).  I hope the kids will somewhat remember this experience....because it really was amazing!
