Fall Break 2017

And the surprises continue...
The kids rarely are allowed to watch the TV in the car...just long trips...this 11 hour drive qualified as a long trip...they were definitely into the movie they were watching, LOL!!!

We were home from Vegas for about 14 hours...long enough to do laundry, repack, and sleep...then we hit the road to surprise the kids for a Fall Break Adventure!  I drove all day Monday of Fall Break to Orlando.  We stayed overnight at a hotel and then Tuesday morning headed to the Hard Rock.  We got checked in, and we were at Universal Studios by 7AM!  SURPRISE!!!!  The kids were so excited!!!  We spent the entire day at Universal Studios, rode the train to Islands of Adventure to do the Harry Potter world there, and then back to Universal to walk to our hotel.  Our favorite Universal rides: Minions, Jimmy Fallon (the men's quartet before the ride was amazing!), I LOVED the Mummy ride...Kathryn was a little bit scared and didn't want to ride it again, Beat Builders was Kaden's absolute favorite thing at the park, all the Harry Potter rides (at first Kaden did NOT want to ride Gringotts, but once he did he loved it), Men in Black, Simpsons, and ET.  We had lunch at Finnegan's which was good.  As a family, I think Jimmy Fallon and Gingotts was our most favorite.  Kaden enjoyed meeting all the Dora characters.  And the parade at the end of the day was pretty cute.  Once the park closed, we headed to the hotel to freshen up for dinner.  We took the water taxi to the City Walk which was fun.  We ate at an amazing Mexican place...the quac was incredible!  After dinner, the kids swam in the pool at the Hard Rock, and then we called it a night!  Day 1 was a total success!!!
