Snuggling with W before leaving |
A boy and his dog! |
A little nap time in the car |
Packing up for our beach trip...I think W wanted to go! |
Ready to road trip with these two! They were great on the car ride too...we left Friday evening...stopped in Alabama to stay Friday night, and then finished up the drive on Saturday morning. We didn't have to make any stops other than for gas. We made the trip in under 8 hours. |
First stop at Orange Beach...Tacky Jacks for lunch...it was good and a fun atmosphere. After lunch, we went to get our groceries for the week. Check in wasn't until 4, but I rolled the dice and got lucky...we were able to check in at 1:30 which meant we were poolside by 2! |
Unloading the car with the kids helping...they actually were great helpers...Kathryn even unloaded all the groceries once in our condo. |
We changed into our swimsuits and headed down...they wanted to do the indoor pool first...this trip was all about them, so that is what we did. They loved the indoor pool. |
After swimming indoors for a couple of hours, we headed outside to see the outdoor pool and the ocean! Kaden immediately wanted to play in the sand, and Kathryn wanted to shell. |
When I asked Kathryn what she was most excited about for our trip, without a second thought, she stated, "Shelling!" |
When asked what he was most excited about for our beach trip...without hesitating...he exclaimed "The SAND!!!" This boy loves the sand!!! |
Outdoor pool...the water was a little cool but they didn't care |
Our first day was a total success...the kids played hard and were sound asleep by 6:45! It should be noted, we had a 3 bedroom condo, and they still slept together...they really are the sweetest and adore one another. And, I spent the evening organizing our condo, doing laundry, and relaxing on the balcony watching the storm (luckily, this was the only night of rain, and it was actually beautiful to watch the lightening on the ocean!). |
The kids and I packed up and headed to Orange Beach for our Spring Break. It has become a tradition for the kids and I to do something together for this week off. A couple of years ago we went to Chattanooga, last year Atlanta, and this year, I opted for something bigger...the beach! I decided that Kaden was at a great age to go with me being the only adult (Daddy stayed home to work)...and I was right, we had the best time! To say the kids were good would be an understatement...they were excellent. The week was spent doing what we wanted to do, eating what and when we wanted to eat, and the kids had my undivided attention...it was wonderful! Going to the beach for Spring Break will become a yearly adventure for us, and I am already looking forward to next year!!!
