Father's Day Fun
I am so sad that I didn't take any pics of Kathryn and Kyle on Father's Day. I just totally forgot. Normally I would have done the picture taking before church, but Kathryn was sleeping in (she always does when it's raining), and after church it just slipped my mind. None the less, Father's Day was lots of fun this year. We went to church and then to Red Lobster for lunch...YUMMY! After that, we came home and Daddy took a nap. Once he woke up, the gift scavenger hunt began. Kyle started with Riddle #1, and from that he had to figure out where to go. Each Riddle (there were a total of 5) led him to a gift and another riddle. Riddle number five required we take a drive which led him to his "big" gift...a new grill. He was very excited. After the hunt, we headed to Cold Stone Creamery for an ice cream treat. That evening, we went to the in laws to eat dinner and spent time with Papa. We ended the night watching a movie in bed. It was a great Father's Day!
Busy as a Bee
The last week and a half has been filled with lots of fun! Two weekends ago, Kyle and I spent the weekend in Tunica. While we didn't win any jackpots, we did have a great time together and enjoyed sleeping in. Last Monday, I spent the day in Nashville with Kailey. We had lunch and lounged poolside all day. Tuesday, Brittnye came over, and we spent the day scrapbooking. I love our scrapbooking time. We always have fun. Wednesday, I had inservice...we got a couple of more benchmarks written for CMCSS. Thursday, Kathryn and I met up with the Callis girls for a day at the zoo. Kathryn loves the zoo, and so do I. Friday, Haven and I went shopping in Hoptown and had lunch together. Friday night, I headed back to Hoptown to spend the night at my mom's. She was having a yard sale Saturday, so I went to help her out. By Saturday night, I was exhausted, so that night we stayed home. I love summer. I love being able to do things I can't do during the school year. It is so fun spending time with Kathryn and spending time with my friends. Life is good!

Fun in the Sun
Last week I needed to plant flowers in the pots on my deck and clean out the garage. Kyle was away at LSU (and therefore unable to help out), so I had to come up with something fun for Kathryn to do while I did a little work. I put her in her bathing suit, turned on the hose, and let her play. She LOVED it! She also enjoyed helping me plant the flowers, but the highlight of the day was playing with the hose. We had so much fun!!!
A Play Date
Here are a few more pics from our zoo play date last Friday with the McQueens and Childers. Kathryn loves the zoo. She enjoys the playing area, but she really gets most excited about seeing the animals. We did ride the carousel...Kathryn chose and rode the giraffe. And, she also rode the train. Kathryn was ready to ride the train until she realized the train was moving and I wasn't on it. She quickly realized she could see me the whole time, but she did freak out for the brief second and cried. Thank you Shelli for riding with her!
Flying High 2011
This year FH was another huge success. Congrats to the chairs of the event. It truly is a gigantic undertaking that most people don't understand until behind the "Chair" title. Although it was like 200 degrees outside, we still had a blast! And, for some reason, I do not have a pic of me and Kyle, but I do have a few with the girls. Happy Flying High!

A little bit of lately
Lots of things have been going on for the Luther family...
1. Kyle and I celebrated our 8th wedding anniversary on May 24th. I CANNOT believe we have been married for eight years. Time really has flown by. I am so lucky to be married to someone I truly love.
2. Kyle survived another two weeks away at LSU. And, naturally, I survived being a single mom for those two weeks. I never realized how much I planned around Kyle until he was gone. Kathryn and I were on our own schedule and that was nice, but we did miss him, and we are so happy he is back home.
3. School is officially over for the summer. We finished our last day May 31st. I have already been to some training this summer, writing benchmarks, aligning standards, etc., and I am actually getting excited for August. However, I will enjoy my summer break until then.
4. Kathryn and I have been on lots of play dates! We loved playing in the park with Rachel and her daughter Em. We had a blast with the Childers and McQueens at the zoo. We celebrated Will's 3rd birthday at Jump Zone (this was our first Jump Zone experience and it was great!). And, we have been on several other outings just the two of us. It has already been a wonderful summer!
5. I am scrapbooking all day tomorrow and Thursday. I need to get "caught up." I am half way through this past Christmas. So, I plan to finish up Christmas 2010 and work my way through May. I LOVE scrapbooking for Kathryn, and I think once she is older, she will love looking back at all the pictures and reading the journals in her books.
6. We have a busy June ahead of us...a couple of trips planned, lots of pool time with Kailey in store, and more play dates with Kathryn and friends. I LOVE SUMMER!!!!!
