Cabo!!!
WOW is pretty much one word to sum it all up. Last week we went to Cabo to celebrate Kailey's 30th, and it was a perfect trip. We left on a Wednesday morning and returned the following Sunday. During our stay, we did a lot of nothing which was absolutely wonderful.
When we arrived Wednesday (FYI, the girls SUV beat the boys...hehe), I was totally taken aback with the beauty of our resort. We stayed at Capella Pedregal, and it was the nicest place we have ever stayed. Wednesday afternoon we enjoyed some down time at the pool bar eating the most delicious guacamole I have ever tasted. Kyle doesn't even like guac, but he wanted this treat daily. That evening we ate dinner at Don Manuel's. The food was delish, but seeing "The Caveman" was definitely the highlight of the dinner.
Thursday we spent all day poolside minus the 60 minute full body message we received at the Auriga Spa. The spa at the resort was unbelievable. It was really an exhausting day :). That evening, we ate at El Farallon. It was on the ocean and the food was excellent.
Friday morning, the girls took a private yoga class. I have only done yoga once or twice ever, but it was a fun/funny experience. I think Kyle is still disappointed that he couldn't find us to take the class too (but he did partake in a 60 minute full body massage at the spa, and he LOVED it). Friday was spent (once again) poolside. It was hard work laying out all day and eating delicious food, but we suffered through. Friday evening, we went to Esperanza for dinner. Again, dining ocean side was great. And, I am still wondering who was the loudest at our table. After dinner, we went to Cabo Wabo. That was a much more fun experience than I expected.
Saturday, we dedicated our last full day to....hanging out by the pool (in "our" spot of course). All day long we relaxed, ate, and drank. That night, we went to Las Ventanas for the bday dinner. The food was awesome, and the atmosphere was perfect. After dinner, we headed back to our resort and celebrated Kailey's 30th with a great cake, a toast, and wonderful friends.
Sunday was the day of mourning. No one was ready to leave. Luckily, we were able to eat breakfast together and got to spend a few hours by the pool before leaving. There was a hiccup (or two) once we got to the airport (ummm....JAY), but we ALL got on a plane to Dallas. Once we got to Dallas, we were short on time to make our flight to Nashville. As we were in line at customs, our flight to Nashville started boarding. Needless to say, we thought there was no way we were making our next flight. After customs, we RAN to claim our baggage and RAN to recheck it. Then, we RAN to security. Becky announced we needed at the front of this line to make our flight, and the 20-30 people in line in front of us, very nicely let us to the front. Thank goodness, otherwise we would not have made it. After this point we RAN to the Skylink which took us to our Terminal. Then we RAN to our gate. As we were walking on the plane, everyone was glaring at us, as it was obvious they were waiting for the seven of us to board before taking off. All was good, and the extra bonus was that our luggage made it too! SUCCESS!!!!! Or WINNING!!!!!
We had the best time in Cabo. We made so many life long memories with great friends. We are all truly blessed!

Not yet Daddy!
The other night we ate dinner upstairs. Kathryn and I had headed on up, said our prayers, and were about to begin eating. Then Kyle came up sat down with us. We all began to eat when Kathryn semi-shouted, "Not yet Daddy! You didn't say your prayer." It was so sweet and funny!

Another funny...
This morning as Kyle was leaving Kathryn said, "Be good for me, Daddy." She is so silly even though she was being totally serious!
Above are some pics from this weekend. Kathryn LOVES to play outside with the bubbles...they are her favorite! And yes, she loves to wear sunglasses, and she usually wears them upside down.

Happy 12th Birthday Bailey!
WOW! Bailey is 12 today, and I cannot believe it. A little less than 12 years ago, I picked him out of a litter in Georgia and carried him back home to Hopkinsville. And, just for the record, my mom was NOT happy (and that is putting it lightly). Over time, Bailey grew on her, and now she loves him...I think. She tries to act like she doesn't, but she did sleep with him on the tiled kitchen floor when he had to have a surgery that required a drain and therefore he couldn't be on the carpet....yeah, she loves him.
Bailey has been such a blessing in my life. He has gone everywhere with me (literally, he follows me EVERYWHERE in the house...still). Since my mom wasn't happy about me bringing home a puppy to live with us, I HAD to take him pretty much anywhere I went (Thanks Means family for allowing him to spend lots of time at your house). He was/is a good travel partner. When I moved to Clarksville, Bailey was my roommate...it was just the two of us. It was so nice having him to come home to everyday versus an empty condo. Bailey is a super friendly dog and never meets a stranger. So, when Kyle came along, Bailey looked at him as a new friend. Kyle knew when we started dating, that Bailey and I were a package deal, so Kyle took to Bailey quickly...smart guy :). As a matter of fact, Kyle proposed to me on Bailey's birthday in 2002.
As Bailey has gotten older, his quirkiness (mainly separation anxiety) has gotten worse. He MAJORLY stresses when he is left alone or when he cannot be with me. So after trying several doggy medicines, he now takes Prozac (the real deal) everyday. Yes, I am "that girl" that goes to Walgreens to get her dog's meds refilled. Other than a slight loss of hearing, he is in good health. Bailey is sometimes worrisome (like when we are eating or if a kleenex is left out), but most of the time he is just super snuggly and sleeps.
One of my main concerns while pregnant with Kathryn was bringing her home with Bailey here. Bailey is a real "Momma's Boy," so I was not sure how he would adjust. Much to my surprise, he did great. He loves her almost as much as she loves him.
I truly love Bailey so much. He is my sweet boy. I won't ever love another dog as much as I love him. Sometimes he stresses me out, but his unconditional love out weighs any of that stress.
HAPPY 12th BIRTHDAY BAILEY! WE LOVE YOU!!!
Above are some pics from his early years
Operation Fiesta Forty
For the past couple of months, I (along with 7 other hosts) have been planning a surprise 40th birthday party for my coworker and friend Tara. Tara is a wonderful person who constantly thinks and does for others. She was very deserving of a special party. So, a group of us got together and developed Operation Fiesta Forty.
If you know me well, you know I am all about a theme. When planning an event, a theme helps me to stay focused and organized. AND, I am all about a Spanish/Mexican feel for a party. I mean, who doesn't like chips, salsa, margaritas, etc.?!?!?!
We began with securing a location (Manzanillos in Sango). Then we worked on setting a menu as well as creating and sending invitations. To make sure we had everyone invited, we stole her cell phone from her classroom and wrote down the names and numbers from her contact list. We began calling key people to get names and addresses. The invitation list was probably the hardest part because we didn't want to leave anyone out. Then, I called her other job to make sure she was off for the night of the party. Other details were taken care such as getting her hair done the day before, making and fluffing paper flowers, getting her to the party without suspicion, etc, etc. There was a lot of planning involved (THANKS to the other hosts for allowing me delegate responsibilities), but it was, without a doubt, worth all the hard work when she walked in and all 75 of us yelled "SURPRISE!"
Above are a few pics I took while we were setting up...big thanks to Norm for taking pics for the night. Once I have those, I will post some more!

Tickle Tickle
The other night Kyle had to spank Kathryn...now, I can't remember why...but none the less, after he spanked her bottom, she looked up at him and said "Tickle, Tickle" while laughing. I almost fell off the couch laughing. Needless to say, Daddy didn't think it was so funny.

Pink Out!
For this month's bunco, we decided to throw a surprise baby "sprinkle" for Katie and Adrienne. Since they are both having girls and this is their second girl, we thought a sprinkle was appropriate. We went with an all pink theme including us all wearing pink. It was fun honoring both of them and showering them with gifts. We have an awesome bunco group!
Above are pics from the night. We had Chloe and Addison take our group pic...I had to include all the "takes"...too fun!

Happy 5th Birthday Garrett!
I can't believe my nephew Garrett is FIVE! This past weekend, my mom, Kathryn, and I headed to Athens, GA to celebrate. We left right after school on Friday only to get stuck in Nashville traffic for an hour...BOOOO! What is normally a five and a half hour drive turned into a seven hour drive. However, it was well worth it!
Saturday, we began the day by going to TJ Maxx Home Goods and then lunch at Panera. Athens has an awesome TJ Maxx, so it is pretty much a "must" when we are there. Afterwards, we went to my other nephew's high school baseball game. He is the catcher. Kathryn enjoyed cheering "Kota" for him (his name is Dakota). After the game, we went home to clean up and change clothes for the big birthday party. Garrett's party was at Pump It Up. This place was amazing and extremely organized. I was most impressed by this inflatable facility. The kids loved jumping on all the bounce houses, etc. I will have to admit, I loved the inflatables too! My neck was sore the next day, but the rest of my body survived. That night we watched the UK game and called it a night after that.
Sunday we left Athens around noon and on the way home stopped by the outlets at Calhoun. I was excited to see an Ann Taylor Loft outlet! I got several things including a couple of items for our upcoming Cabo trip.
Needless to say, this weekend was action packed. Kathryn had an absolute blast playing with Garrett. She adores him and wanted to be next to him the whole time. It was too cute. I had fun hanging with my sister. We always have the best time together. I love family time!!!
Above are pics of Garrett and Kathryn playing at TJ Maxx
