This past weekend we went to Vegas for JR's 30th birthday. It was an amazing trip. We flew in Thursday evening...it was awesome seeing the strip glowing in the night sky from the air. Once we got settled into our room, we went to eat at Deigo's. It was DELICIOUS! The atmosphere was laid back, food was great, and the margaritas were so yummy. The vodka and cranberries were a different story, right Kailey :). After dinner we headed to Studio 54 where we had our own tables and dance area which was so nice.
On Friday, we spent the day walking around and browsing at The Forum in Caesar's. While there, we ate lunch and then headed to Serendipity for dessert. The frozen hot chocolate was good, but the hot fudge sundae was the BEST (good call Courtney!). Afterwards, we headed back to the MGM (our hotel) and gambled a little before heading up to the room to get ready for the evening. Friday evening, we went to the O Show at the Bellagio. If you have never seen this show, you need to. It is unbelievable. This was my second time seeing it, and I was still in "awe" the entire show. After the show, we went to eat at Yellowtail. This place was so nice. We had a huge table with access to two balconies overlooking the fountains which meant every 15 minutes, we had a front row seat of the fountain show...AMAZING! After dinner, we headed back to the MGM and played some cards then headed to bed to rest up for Saturday's festivities.
Saturday morning, we went to Kailey and JR's sweet skyloft for a birthday breakfast. A chef came in and made waffles, omelets, and pretty much anything breakfast you could think of. It was delish. After breakfast, I headed down to the casino to play cards (I LOVE to play cards!). I stayed on a super fun table for a few hours. That afternoon, a group of us headed to New York New York to ride the roller coaster. I had not ridden a roller coaster in a looooong time. I was more excited than scared. This roller coaster did not disappoint. It was a blast. Becky and I rode together (Kyle doesn't ride rides). When we got off, we were given tickets to ride again for free. So naturally, we rode again. Fun times (insert spirit sprinkles Becky!). Saturday evening, the birthday celebration continued at Craftsteak. The food was excellent. They had these rolls that had a sea salt concoction sprinkled on top, and they were to die for. All the food was great and the atmosphere was cool. After dinner, we headed up to Kailey and JR's loft for cake and some prepartying. The birthday cake was so neat! I was too full from dinner to eat any, but it looked awesome. After some partying, we went to Tao...what an experience! The club was PACKED. I was so glad we had our own area to sit, dance, and people watch. Honestly, the club was unreal. The music was great, the drinks were perfect, and our section was fun (minus the crazies that tried to creep in our section...since we had Stacey, we had no concerns!).
Sunday morning, somehow we managed to get up and be at the airport 2 hours before our flight. I was pretty sure someone in our group would miss a flight due to sleeping in, but everyone made it out as scheduled. We had the best weekend! I was so glad to be there with friends celebrating JR's birthday. Kailey did an amazing job planning a fun weekend. HAPPY 30th JR!!!!!
