Kaden has officially moved to the Lambs class at The Red Barn. This is definitely bittersweet for me. I know he was more than ready to move up, but it makes me a little sad because my baby is getting big. Since moving to the Lambs class, his new teacher always has great stories from Kaden's day at school. One day last week, Kaden playing in the dress up clothes. He put on a sports coat and started walking around the room saying "Daddy"...Way too cute that he dressed up like his daddy! Another day, Kaden pretended a duck bit him and put the duck in time out. Speaking of time out. Several weeks ago, Kyle and I decided we should start using time out at home. The first time we told Kaden to go to time out, he knew EXACTLY what to do. He got a stool, set it in a corner, and then faced the wall. We explained NOTHING to him. Kyle and I looked at each other and quickly determined that Kaden must go to time out a lot at daycare (or maybe he is super smart and observant and watched friends of his go to time out). Either way, we were dying laughing. Kaden is without a doubt and busy boy, but we love him so much!
Here are a few of his current favorites at the age of 2 years, 1 month, and 4 days old...
1. Yo Gabba Gabba...he will watch an episode a day from beginning to end. He loves the show!
2. Night Night...this is his old sleep sack that has turned into his "security blanket" at bedtime. He calls it Night Night.
3. Bailey and really any other dog, cat, horse, duck....animal
4. Oranges, Mac and Cheese, Bananas, Muffins, Yogurt, and Cheese
5. Milk and Juice
6. He loves to "cook" in the play kitchen.
7. The book "Are You My Mother?"...we read it every night.
8. Playing outside...it doesn't matter what we play with, but he loves to be outside
9. Art...his Red Barn teachers say he loves art time
10. Play Dough...what 2 year old doesn't love play dough?!?!?!
11. His "Sissy"...he absolutely loves his big sister and she loves him right back. They have the sweetest relationship. He continues to be a Momma's boy, and he loves his Papa too!
Milestones...
1. Talking using 3-5 words per phrase/sentence...Most sentences start out with "I need....."
2. He tries to sing Twinkle Twinkle Little Star, and it is so sweet!!!!! This is the first song he has tried to sing on his own.
3. Doing better at mealtimes...he is still messy, but it is getting so much better.
4. Playing on his own...he is beginning to entertain himself and enjoys playing with toys.
5. Using his imagination...this has really blossomed in his playtime.
Routines...
Kaden goes to bed at 7 PM and wakes around 7 AM. He naps from noon until 2:00. He eats breakfast, a morning snack, lunch, an afternoon snack, and dinner. At bedtime, he likes to read a book and then "rock" for a couple of minutes while we sing ABC's, Rock a Bye Baby, and Hush Little Baby.
