Happy Easter 2013!!!

He is Risen!!!!  He is Risen Indeed!!!!  What a blessing to live in a country where we can freely and openly worship our Heavenly Father.

This Easter was extra special because it was Kaden's 1st!  We had a great day (minus Kathryn not feeling well).  We began by checking out the treats left by the Easter bunny.  Then we went to church, next to the Luthers for an egg hunt and more Easter treats, and afterwards we went to brunch at the Country Club.  Kathryn opted not to go to brunch....she was not feeling well (turns out she still had strep after 10 days of an antibiotic...so we started a 2nd antibiotic on Monday).  The rest of the day was spent at home being lazy.  My kind of day!

Happy 89th Birthday Momma Hope!

Today Momma Hope turned 89.  She is pretty amazing.  She stills lives completely on her own, and for the most part, she is in good health.  I am blessed to have a sweet, caring grandmother.  And, Kathryn absolutely loves her and loves hanging out at her house.  Here are a few pics of us hanging with Momma Hope on her birthday...

Spring Break 2013

Spring Break was a perfect mix...adult time, family time, alone time.  Kyle and I went to Tunica for the first weekend with family and friends.  We had a great time, and I got some much needed sleep after a long, stressful work week.  I LOVE going to Tunica...great food, playing cards and slots, and spending time with Kyle, family, and friends.  FUN TIMES!!!

The week was spent working around the house, spending a day with mom, meeting the Smith twin girls, and spending a day with Phyllis and the kiddos.  And this past weekend, we celebrated Momma Hope's 89th birthday and Easter.  Again, just a great week (minus the crazy weather).  Here are a few pics...

This was Monday morning of Spring Break...the most snow we had all winter.  Kathryn LOVED playing in it.  She built a snow queen, had a snow ball fight with Daddy, and made a snow angel.  Before coming inside, she said it was the best day ever and she would never forget it.  So, so sweet!

Kyle generally emails me each morning to wish me a good day and give me any info on the kiddos...I always love getting his daily email especially when they have stories like this...

March 14th:
Subject Line: Kathryn
2 things about our sweet girl today.
 - I had to wake her up and was carrying her into the bonus room.  She was still asleep and the first thing she said was "Daddy, I love you."  So sweet.
 - She wanted to wear a headband today with her red shirt so I suggested the silver one.  She replied, "I want to wear the gold one because red and gold are the colors of Florida State."  I don't think I've ever been prouder of her!!!  Of course she followed it up with Go Govs!  Haha

Then the very next day I get this email from Kyle...

Subject Line: New Proudest Moment!!!!!
So, this morning Kathryn got herself dressed as usual and when we went to brush her teeth I noticed her pants were pulled up high.  I proceeded to pull them down a little bit so that they didn't look 4 inches short.  She said, "Daddy, I like them up high."  I asked why and she replied, "Because I don't want the boys to see my panties."  THAT'S MY GIRL!!!!!

Kyle does such an awesome job with the kids in the mornings.  He completely gets them ready and dropped off at school every day.  He really is a great daddy!!!!!

Flu and strep..

This is what flu and strep will do to a girl...she tested positive for both this past Tuesday...Thank God for grandparents that are able to help out.  She is out of school all week.  THANK YOU Mimi!!!!!  

Kathryn's 1st Soccer Game of this Season

 

Sadly, Daddy and I missed Kathryn's first game of this season due to Candlelight Ball.  I am on the committee and had to be at the event early to decorate.  None the less, here are a few shots from her first game (thank you Abby and Daniel Binkley for the pics!).  Kathryn seems to really enjoy soccer.  She loves having so many friends on her team.  They really have a great time playing, and I love that Kathryn is staying active and having fun all at the same time.
